It may take a few days before I find time to summarize our trip. It was wonderful to say the least. Please feel free to look at the pictures I took. They're posted at http://picasaweb.google.com/pbcgomez/GuatemalaSpringBreak2010#

mountaintop experience
we're doing well. the students seem to be having a wonderful time. i had one of those moments yesterday when you're so full that God's spirit flows out your eyeballs (haha - i was crying like a baby). we were up on top of this mountain, giving food to this family and praying for them. we were circled up around them, and i was holding hands with our guatemalan translator (whom i LOVE) on the left and a guatemalan man from the church on the right. the pastor asked me to pray over the family, and just the realization that my God is the God of these people, and this world is His creation, and He's allowed little, insignificant me to be part of spreading physical and spiritual food to His children. too much for my heart.
as we were climbing the steep mountain to reach that family, i literally prayed at one time, "God, i know you didn't bring me here to die, so PLEASE put some air in these lungs." after that "mountaintop experience" i described above, God reminded me that often His will for us requires us to push ourselves - perhaps physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He reminded me of jesus' trek up mount calvary and that His sacrifice was much greater than mine.
we love you and appreciate your prayers.

Faultless
It's late. I'm tired and grimy, so I will wait until later to post more details. So far we have had more than one bump in the dry, dusty road, but God's timing and provision are faultless. We love you and appreciate the prayers. --Bonita
